emo kids and hipsters

So as some of you may know I have a vampire freaks account, since I love messing with people online.
So on vampire freaks people get hit on, a lot.
Most of the time it'll be either emo kids, or some weird emo hipster mutant looking person.
My question is how do tell if the emo person is male or female? I guess same question goes for hipsters.
The reason I ask is because gender is important when making fun of some horny kid trying to get his/her jollies off a site like VF,
