Bone's Lair

Ok so me and a douche bag were debating the merits of the DOMA (Defense Of Marriage Act). He said that it was unconstitutional...but couldnt back it based on anything other than "i think it is in the constitution"... After thinking about it for almost 30 seconds I replied "Do you mean it is unconstitutional because it violates the Equal protection of law clause of the 14th amendment?"

To which he crisply replies "yea thats it".... My response was simply "gay guys and lesbos have every right to marry a person of the opposite gender, its not being discouraged. Now if you are going to give me some bullshit excuse about love, just look at most marriages they are made out of financial necessity or some kind of economic gain...marriage for love is a crock of shit, and if you think that gay marriage is any different, I will let you get back to hunting unicorns"....

So now i'm apparently a gay hater...

How can i politely tell this guy he's a fucking idiot?

One other thing...What fucking moron thinks he knows the constitution better than the supreme court? I mean for srs...those guys are all like con law experts or something

Because if you are not, that seems highly more unconstitutional. And illogical. And irrational.

Meh i'm personally indifferent to gay marriage, but to say that a gay man doesnt have the same right to marry a woman as a straight man is a bit stupid....they have every right to marry them. Now if you make the arguement that they may not be sexually attracted to their husband/wife...you just shaved years off the process of hating eachother

The only reason gay marriage isn't totally legal is because some political figures on the right would rather make up "moral issues" and use religious scare tactics to stupid people so they don't read the HORRIBLE policies these individuals believe in. There are absolutely no reasons it shouldn't be legal in this so-called "land of the free".

That doesn't change the fact most marriages are convenient for financial reasons. Money seems to be the major motivator, partner benefits, ect.
