the tripp pants conversation

I'm late to this party, but at 28 I can honestly say I've seen the rise of Tripp and I've never cared a fuck about them. I've been in the Goth and Punk scenes my whole life. I bought ONE pair at 18 because they were comfortable, I wore em to a show, they fell off, I mooned everyone around me. Fuck that, they've been my lawn mowing and weed eating pants ever sense. I've got friends that like them, it fits them better than me. I like looking like I know what punk rock means personally. Haha. That being said, I've got friends that love them, I've no beef with it.
I've got beef with the "over sized bondage pants" with matching emoband tshirt, makeup, and angular haircut and them calling it "goth". Stupid emo fuckers! No self respecting goth would do that to themselves. Goths like to fuck. You can't get fucked looking like that.

I love dodgeball, the people I knew that where the best at it (beside myself) were fat.
It was Kickball the fat kids got picked last for at my school, most of the fat guys adjusted quickly to dodgeball.

I agree J.C., there are right and wrong ways of doing shit. Hell I'm not much older and I wear whats comfortable. Fucking emo kids gotta ruin everything. I still remember punk being spikes, collars , non conformity and utter distrust of government. I remember those days, and It just bugs the shit out of me that the punk and goth cultures nowadays are nothing like what we grew up with. How the fuck did we go from our experience of punk and goth actually standing for something to it getting turned into this fucking glitz and glam fashion show. I think we need to smack some people around.

Goddamn well said. To thine own self be true. If it looks good on you and its a part of you who are? Rock that shit out! The only thing I have to add to that is I like how uncomfortable I make the posers. I spent a good few years partially living at a punk rock house. Some people may not know what that means or think its a party house, but its the place people with no where else to go end up to plan their revenge, career, or at least their plan. And the D.o I.t Y.ourself part that comes with that. I really scare the shit out of these guys literally not much younger than myself at all that think its a label, not a lifestyle. It IS a part of you. goth stuff too. They look at me like a math problem, I view them as a target. Where did it go to shit? http://www.hottopic.com thats how. Marketing agencies. I recently was playing the part of smeagol the mall minion, and I happened to walk past a Hot Topic. I shit you not, they were playing Lady Gaga over the PA and they actually had a Lady Antebellum shirt on the wall. I just stopped and looked in the dude working the till was "thugged out."

I thought, "this is retarded." And went to Spencer's next door.

I would be surprised if they were playing good music, had non poser employees, and did not sell stupid crap for emos and posers, but sadly that will never happen.
