This is probably going to show my total n00b status. But I'd like to know, what was everyone's FIRST album or single or whatever that they ever got/bought/stole for themselves.

Mine was an Industrial Tribute to AC/DC from Cleopatra Records when I was 7. I wasn't paying attention and thought it was Back In Black for some reason. At first I was bummed cause it wasn't the CD I really wanted but I grew to like it alot, and I still have it and it still works. It may be the reason why I like Godflesh so much. Hmm..

Anyway, n00b question. GO.

First record (yes I am from the golden age of vinyl) I purchased was "Kiss - Rock and Roll Over" in 77'
As a side note My first "Big" Concert was also Kiss, on Halloween Night 1979.

I was a HUGE Kiss fan in my pre-teenage years. Then I got older and got better taste in music.... lol

First record... was probably Samhain - November Coming Fire.
First tape... probably Black Sabbath - Paranoid.
First CD... probably Nirvana - Nevermind or Soundgarden - badmotorfinger. I didn't own a CD player until I was probably about 14.

First concert I'll never admit.

First album: Metallica. Kill 'em All. When I was a teen, my mom claims she burned all my albums including two she bought me; Pyromania and some album by Lionel Richie. She said they promoted drugs and sex. Hahahaaaaa!!! All Catholics should be martyred. No. Scratch that. All religious zealots should be martyred.
First cassette: Dirty Deeds. AC/DC.
First CD: Love and Rockets. Earth Sun Moon.
First concert: Ramones. Unless you count that one when I was six months old when my parents took me to the Grand Ole Opry.

My first cassette was a hand-me-down from my older brother. It was NIN's The Fragile.

Never owned vinyl other than a shower curtain.

First concert was AC/DC. My mom took me. It was pretty awesome.

I think my first tape was "Sargent Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" by the Beatles. It's all foggy though. My parents had a lot of great music around when I was a kid. I used to sleep to "Dark Side of the Moon" with headphones as an Infant.
