HOnestly I dont recommend carrying a knife for most people. Unless you are truly (and honestly ask yourself this question) willing to stab someone. Easy to say it... a lot more difficult to do. most people will pull their attacks with a knife because they really have an aversion to stab someone. A blade is a very personal wepon to try and attack with.

its only murder if you kill them with it...it was self defense...however a knife is assault with a deadly weapon...your call

This is true. you are more likely to be stabbed with your own knife than you are to effectively ward off an attacker
