I've met a few people and couples that enjoy spanking and bondage and all sorts of kink. The fact that they grew up with those things as punishments (spanking in particular) usually has no correlation with what they get off on as an adult.

A lot of the girls who love to be spanked, got spanked as a child. Roughly 90%. It's a psychological correlation of a father figure in comparison to their example of what a mean should be.
